What system features and technologies? If that is the case why do you still want to support Win 7, even older operating system? It just does not make sense. Additionally, Lightroom and Photoshop will continue to support Windows 7 – it's the company's audio and video applications like Premiere Pro that will not.According to Adobe, 'focusing efforts on more modern versions of Windows and Mac operating systems allows to concentrate on developing the features and functionality most requested by members, while ensuring peak performance that takes advantage of modern hardware.'This article has been updated to clarify that Adobe will continue supporting most apps, including Lightroom and Photoshop, on Windows 7.Adobe in the description above says that it will take advantage of the latest operating system features and technologies. 'To take advantage of the latest operating system features and technologies, the next major release of Creative Cloud will not support Windows 8.1, Windows 10 v1511 and v1607, and Mac OS 10.11 (El Capitan). It is just a theory but it is possible and makes sense. I believe that Adobe received an incentive from Microsoft to make us , Win 8.1 users, make a move and switch to Win 10. Adobe just crossed the line here. Adobe is blackmailing us - use the latest operating system or else. All of the sudden, we loyal Adobe users (subscribers) are being held hostage by Adobe. To be continuedYou guys are not getting the big picture and most of you don't know what you are missing.First is the lie that adobe and the like are always polished, more capable, and because they are close source developed for pay. Now, I think, when Adobe gets lots of money, now they want easy money. Adobe, is it not enough? I guess not because the subscription fee went up last April. Or the much more numerous selection of brand new to old vetted and well developed apps for ONE single program (or grouped or not as that doesn't matter) for that one job(s). The problem is that assumes you have had extensive experience (without working for adobe or any prejudice) trying every single avenue and aspect and of the latest stable versions to date. You are right the SOMETHING is probably "better" subjectively with some closed application somewhere and even better for your task at hand. Adobe Illustrator Suite Install With MateIt may take a year for you to be able to have a valid opinion and even just to see what is currently and daily upgrading automatically.See there's so much free (to you) open source created software (even just the user apps) that you can easily be wasting your time on the wrong program, version or way to set it up. So this is why I say install with Mate (32 or 64 for your newest hardware) and start exploring. Even being proud to be stuck in fear and ignorance.Stop comparing what you have not seen. All hindered by human nature not to change ANYTHING and be extremely set in our ways. And that is trashing the priceless. So my thing is shut_up and try it. So if you fixate on a few tiny and insignificant cons in ignorant holy comparison wars then you're just throwing the baby out with the bath water. Not only that but in BETTER ways. Mocha ae v3 keygen crackOr maybe you need to simply ask for help installing it. Because you have not been told LinuxMint Mate. Meanwhile you may be missing what's developing in the best free open source repositories. They can't feasibly hire as many people! They won't and can't. Development speed is what Adobe will never be able to compare with open source. Why? You don't have to delete ANYTHING.And another thing. Xilinx digilent usb jtag driverOH MY! Use a spare flash drive and get going. You might have to actually paste in a command or something to kick the whole thing off. Because the battle is real and road blocks put there (by no responsibility of open developers) requires simply reading the current and easy to do instruction. You may need to try again with the last linuxMint Mate distro. But it does take some stubbornness. You'd think that Adobe would support 8.1 at least as long as MS does, as technically it's not "obsolete" until MS drops support.Adobe's move really bothers me because, while I'm running Win 7, I'm in the process of migrating to another computer on which I installed 8.1 because I specifically did NOT want to run Win 10 due to its privacy issues. Win 7 support ends in about 18 months, while support for 8.1 runs, I think, a year or so longer. Since not that many people installed Win 8/8.1 before Win 10 came along it never gained much market share. On the other hand MS will support Win 8.1 to a later date than they will 7. No one is guilt-ing you for collections! It's really curious that Windows 7 will be supported, but not 8.1, but considering that there is still a pretty large percentage of computers out there running Win 7 compared to those running 8.1, I guess Adobe is going by the percentages. Paying for apps (optionally here) is NOT a problem. But Adobe will continue to support MacOS but not Win 8.1. But Adobe's programming costs for making their applications compatible with MacOS, which is a whole different operating system from Windows, have to be much larger than what they'd spend on maintaining compatibility with Win 8.1, -which is mostly the same as Win 7 or Win 10, but with a few changes that likely don't take as much programming time to insure compatibility with as the entirety of MacOS does. If you could subtract the MacOS versions that Abode won't support out of that 9.5% then the figure would probably be closer to the Win 8.1 figure. If you go by the numbers shown on that W3 Schools site I posted the link to in my previous post, Win 8.1 usage is at 6.9%, and MacOS at 9.5%. Maybe I should "downgrade" to 7And actually, if we're going to play a "numbers game" as to which OSes Adobe should support, then you could make the argument that they shouldn't support MacOS at all. ![]() Furthermore, giving their OS updates for free allows them to install any feature they like you to use for free (with payed extensions/extras of course which give them more revenue), keeping possible upcoming SW competitors at a low level, in other words keeping their PC OS "monopoly" (well almost with 90% in PC market) and as a consequence also keeping their power. So according to me MS will never take the risk by charging a Windows sub, causing a possible collapse of all their linked SW+cloud business. Taking into account all other MS software+cloud services that are linked to their OS, that is the main driver of their strategy and revenue.
